Whitehall MSA (“the MSA,” “we,” “us”) is the Muslim Student Association, a student club at Whitehall High School in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. This Privacy Policy covers this website, wmsa.pages.dev (the “Site”), and how the club handles information it receives through its own channels, such as our group chat, Instagram, and Google Forms.
The Site is built and run by student members. It is not operated by the Whitehall-Coplay School District, and the District’s own policies cover information the school itself collects.
Nothing you type. The public pages have no sign-up forms, no visitor accounts, no comment boxes, and no newsletter. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, or any other personal information on this Site.
Like every website, the Site has to be delivered to your browser by a host. Our host is Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, and the time, in order to deliver the page and protect it from attacks.
The Site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and animation code from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). When your browser downloads those files, those providers receive your IP address and browser information as part of a normal web request. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with it.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other tracking or analytics tools on the Site.
The public pages set no cookies.
The leadership login, which is only for club officers, uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep a signed-in officer signed in. It expires after 14 days or when they sign out. To stop people from guessing the access code, the login also records failed sign-in attempts together with the IP address they came from, and temporarily blocks an address after too many wrong tries. That record is cleared when the address signs in successfully, or when a club leader clears it.
The leadership area holds club business: meeting dates, headcounts, money raised, and planning notes. It is behind access codes and is not public. Officers are asked not to put sensitive personal information about members in it.
Most of the club happens off this Site. When you use these, the platform’s own privacy policy applies, and we can see what the platform shows us:
Only to run the club: planning meetings and events, counting heads so there is enough food, organizing volunteers, logging service hours, reading feedback so we can do better, and keeping members safe.
If you volunteer with the MSA and want service hours, we record your name, the event, and your hours, and share them with the club’s advisor, school staff, or the organization that needs to verify them. We do not use that record for anything else.
We take photos and videos at meetings and events and may post them on the Site, on our Instagram, and on flyers. If you do not want to be photographed, tell an officer at the event.
If you are in a photo or video you want taken down, message us on Instagram at @whitehallmsa, or talk to any MSA officer or the club’s faculty advisor at Whitehall High School. We will remove it from the Site and our own accounts as soon as we reasonably can. A parent or guardian can ask for this too. We cannot pull back copies other people have already saved or shared.
We do not sell or rent anyone’s information, and we do not use it for advertising. We only share it:
The Site is meant for high school students, their families, and the community. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, message us on Instagram at @whitehallmsa, or talk to any MSA officer or the club’s faculty advisor at Whitehall High School and we will delete it.
Many of our members are under 18. A parent or guardian can contact us about any information we have that relates to their child. Please do not post other people’s personal information anywhere in the club’s channels.
We keep form responses and club records only as long as the club needs them. That is generally the current school year, plus whatever is needed for service-hour and money records so the next leadership team can account for them. When we no longer need something, we delete it. Copies may stay in backups kept by the providers we use for a period after that.
We take reasonable steps to protect information: the Site uses HTTPS, the leadership area is behind access codes with a lockout against guessing, and only officers who need club records can see them. No website or app is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.
You can ask us what information the club has about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it for a service-hour or money record. You can leave the group chat at any time and ask us to take down a photo of you. To do any of this, message us on Instagram at @whitehallmsa, or talk to any MSA officer or the club’s faculty advisor at Whitehall High School.
The Site links to Instagram, WhatsApp, and other websites we do not run. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
If we change how the Site or the club handles information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
